By now Jean has taken her final drive to Saint John, a city she dearly loved. Although she and Billy resided in a number of locations, there was nothing she liked better than to talk about Saint John. She had so many memories of growing up there and she could recall and retell all the details of her early life, even as she eased into her nineties. Jean was my great- aunt on my dad's side. He is a Cairns whose family history is steeped in the grand adventure of the combined Cairns/Bell family coming by ship from Scotland in 1929. How Jean loved to talk about the family history! It was important to her that the next generations knew about the trials and hardships the large family endured in order to begin their new life in Canada. She was thrilled when Mom and I visited her and took notes and pictures of all of her notes. And so the circle of life goes on, Jean is at rest with Billy and Chinook, and we are left to carry on and keep our family tree healthy and intact. Dear Jean, we'll do our best, and enjoy a few cups of tea in your memory along the way.
With much love from John and Pam (Cairns) LeBlanc and family in Calgary

Condolences to Jeannie's family and friends on her passing. Jeannie and her husband Billy were good friends of my parents and I remember spending a great deal of time in their company whether at our house in Highfield or theirs in Long Creek. There were many fun filled parties and dances held in their garage with chosen family/friends. Her quiet manner, love of African Voilets and animals were admired by many. Watching so many of her good friends pass away before her left an ache in her heart but she stayed positive and loved life. Now she can rest easy with those she has missed for so long.

Sending my sympathy to all of Jean's family and friends. I started visiting Jean and Billy in Long Creek about 24 years ago as their footcare nurse. I feel like I have lost a great friend. When you visit someone every 2 months for that length of time they are not just your patient but your friend. We have shared great conversation, ups and downs in life, and lots of laughs. So glad Jean got to be in her home for so long and didn't suffer for any length of time. You are now with Billy, and all your family. Rest in peace Jean. With sympathy Elaine Folkins

Spending time with Aunt Jeanie the past week was a privilege that many people are denied. She has been a part of my life since I was born. Jeanie and Billy were supportive and loving to my parents and my family through the years. Not having children of their own, they were always a great part of their nieces and nephews lives. Jeanie was an excellent cook, loved a good party and was full of fun. She loved her cats and treated them with much love. She was a member of the violet association, taking many trips to do judging and meeting other violet groups. Jeanie loved her time at the Lion's Villa and her neighbours there were special to her. Her caregivers were wonderful with her, making her last years comfortable and staying in the place she loved. We will miss her in our lives but have been privileged to have had her all these years. Rest in peace Aunt Jeanie.

There is not enough space to write what we think of our Aunt Jean, but I want to share the fun she was and the kind heart she had. She was the first to be there for anyone. Her love for any animal was huge she made friends with anything that had for legs and the birdies MUST be fed . She was game for anything. We went on many road trips with Betty (what she named my gps lol ) she would hop in the passenger seat and tap the dash and say “ so where we going today Betty” and we could end up anywhere! Up the mountain in the city the back roads or Ozzie’s we just never knew. I will never forget the times we spent on our girlie sleepovers eating cheesies and drinking pop ( I was a bad influence) we would talk for hours about life and memories ( there were many ) and dreams. This was our last sleep over Aunt Jean and this next Ride You had to take without me, but we all know Uncle Billy will be there waiting for you with a room full of family and friends. Until we meet Again ❤️

She always had an interesting story to tell, loved to point out different birds, Loved her window seat where she would spend most of her day enjoying nature and just sitting talking and laughing enjoying life .I'm going to miss dropping in to say hello and her phone calls just to chat. Rest easy my friend.

To all if Jean's family. Jean was a great lady, I had the pleasure of sharing the last 2and a half years with. She lived deeply and unselfishly. She loved all animals. And especially cats. She had the joy of a kitten for a few weeks before christmas and I never saw her happier then when "Baabee" came to visit. She will be missed deeply. Hugs and prayers to all of you. Treasure your memories.
