Obituary of Jean Bell
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mrs. Jean Florence Bell announce her passing at the Sussex Health Center on January 15, 2024, at the age of 93.
Born on April 2, 1930, in Saint John, NB; she was the daughter of the late Percy Burton and Gertrude May (Long) Earle.
Jean was a member of the Cody's Baptist Church and St. Paul's United Church. She was a life member of the AVSC and the Moncton and Sussex AVS, a member of the AVSA, the founding president of the Fundy A.V.S. of Saint John, NB, a master judge, and hybridizer of many African Violets that she named to honour special family and friends or events. She traveled across Canada and the United States to attend AVC conventions.
Jean was a member of the Orange Lodge Millstream LOL 1389, the Sussex Seniors and a past member of the Coles Island Seniors.
Jean was a lifetime of love of all nature, ocean, woods, birds, and animals all of Gods creation. A special love of all her cherished kitties, especially Chinook.
Jean was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and by her godson, Calvin Thomas of Australia.
Jean was predeceased by her sisters: Mary Duke, Donna Earle, Velva Starkey and Sandra Kierstead and by her brother Robert Earle.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on January 19, 2024 from 1-2pm. A service celebrating Jean’s life will be immediately following at 2:00pm.
