Obituary of Roy Archibald Dryden

It is with deep sadness that the family of Roy Archibald Dryden announces his passing on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Sussex Health Centre. Born in Saint John, NB on June 12, 1943, Roy was the son of the late Roy Archibald Sr. and Mary Della (Beers) Dryden.

Throughout his life, Roy made an impact on his community. He was deeply involved in the Greater Moncton Home Builders Association, growing girls basketball through the Moncton Minor Basketball Association, organizing the Children’s Charity Classic Golf Tournament for over ten years, serving as a member of the Vestry and other parts of the Trinity Anglican Church community, and as a founding member of the Cassidy Lake Road Advisory Team. But his most important role was husband, father, and grandfather.

Roy is survived by his loving wife, Marion; his daughters: Cynthia Taylor (Andrew) of Kitchener, ON, and Sue Dunfield (Mike) of Moncton, NB, and his grandchildren Alex, Samantha, and Jacob. Along with his parents, Roy was predeceased by his infant sister, Mary Theresa.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). There will be a celebration of Roy’s life on Wednesday, September 17 at 1:00 pm at Trinity Anglican Church in Sussex.
