Obituary of Mae Clain

Mrs. E. Mae Clain, of the Kiwanis Nursing Home, (formerly of Wallace Court) Sussex, New Brunswick, passed away at her residence on February 12, 2001. Born in Sussex, New Brunswick on November 2, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William and Bessie (Anderson) Kelso. She was the beloved wife of the late Lloyd Everett Clain who passed away in 1987. Mae is survived by her daughter, Linda Robertson and her husband Vernon of Ottawa, Ontario, 2 brothers, Sidney Kelso and his wife Lotta, of Sussex and Donald Kelso of Sussex, N.B., 2 sisters, Grace Reading and her husband Tom of Lethbridge, Alberta and Florence Harvey of Cobourg, Ontario, a sister-in-law, Elva (Kelso) Greer, 2 grandchildren, Christopher Robertson and his wife Christine of Toronto, and Sharon Myra and her husband Chris of Edmonton, Alberta, 4 great-grandchildren, Alexander and Andrew Robertson, Connor and Austin Myra, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 brothers, W. Aubrey Kelso and Gordon E. Kelso, a sister, Eva Vail. Mae was a member of the Rebeccas Oddfellows, an active member of the United Baptist Church in Oromocto and Sussex, New Brunswick, also a member of the Baptist Church Guild. She was a member and volunteer of the Oromocto Ladies Hospital Auxillary. Mae was a member of the Sussex Senior Citizens Club. Mae was a resident in Minto, NB from 1963-1964, then she moved to St. Stephen, NB from 1964-1968, then Oromocto, NB from 1968-1987. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 at Wallace Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held from Sussex United Baptist Church on Thursday, February 15, 2001 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Gordon Walker officiating. Interment will take place at Kirk Hill Cemetery in the spring. Donations made to the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
