Mr. Austin S. Johnston, of Hillsdale, New Brunswick passed away at Sussex Health Centre on December 26, 2000. Born in Hillsdale, NB on May 26, 1912, he was the son of Corey E. and Sadie (Tabor) Johnston. Austin was a retired Merchant, Lumberman and Heavy Equipment Contractor and a former Councilor in Hampton. He was predeceased by his first wife of over 40 years, the late Mary H. (Allaby) Johnston and by his second wife the late Annie (Allaby) Johnston. Austin is survived by 5 Sons, Karrl and his wife Helen of Saint John, Cyrus and his wife Marlene of New Line, Travis and his wife Phyllis of Upham, Humphrey and his wife Janie of Hillsdale, LeVerne and his wife Gail of Manitoba Rd., 5 Daughters, Winnona Parlee and her husband Malcolm of Apohaqui, Evelyna McKay and her husband Stewart of Tatamagouche, NS, Dionne Yeomans and her husband James of Salt Springs, Betty Bettle and her husband Paul of Sussex, Juanita Keys and her husband Danny of McGreggor Brook 34 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Austin was also predeceased by 2 sons Gorham and C. Anglin, by his brother Frank and his sister Viola Brennan and by his grandson Scott Dempster. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of WALLACE FUNERAL HOME 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday 2-4, 7-9 at Wallace Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held from Sussex United Baptist Church on Friday, December 29, 2000 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Gordon Walker, and Rev. Kevin Vincent Officiating. There will be a time of fellowship with the family following the service. Interment at Hillsdale Cemetery in the Spring.
