Obituary of George Secord
George Secord was born in Long Creek on May 29, 1917, he was the son of the late Walter C. Secord and Florence S. (Patterson) and was the husband of the late Gladys (Wilson) Secord.
George served during WWII as a wireless operator in the Royal Canadian Air Force, he was a retired teacher and was a farmer and a former member of the New Brunswick Retired Teachers Association and the Golden "K" Club
Mr. George Secord of Sussex, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on July 21, 2000 at the age of 83.
George will be lovely remembered by his five sons; John and his wife Lynda of Guelph, Ont, Lloyd and his wife Louise of Fox Hill, NB, Andrew and his wife Kathleen of Fredericton, William of New York City, USA, James and his wife Cathy of Simpsonville, South Carolina, USA; one brother Harry and his wife Madeline of Chipman; two sisters; Suzie Watts of Saint John, Ada Secord of Saint John; 11 Grandchildren, two Great Grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
George was predeceased by three sisters; Bessie Elliott, Marion MacFarlane and Florence Biggar and by four brothers; Clifford, Gordon, Ralph and Charles.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 .
A service celebrating George William's life will be held from Sussex United Baptist Church on Monday, July 24, 2000 at 1:00 pm. The interment will take place at Coles Island Cemetery.
