Viola Black was born in Brookvale, Queens Co. on March 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Barton) Wood and was the wife of the late Eslie Black. Viola was a member of Canaan River Seniors, Canaan sewing Circle and the Canaan Community Centre. Mrs. Viola Mae Black of Hunters Home, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on April 21, 2000 at the age of 72. Viola Mae will be remembered by two daughters; Margaret Tower and her husband Alvin of Young's Cove, Daphne Crawford of Dartmouth, NS; two sons; Brian Black and his wife Carol of Hunters Home, NB, Gordon Black and Valerie of Woodstock, NB; one sister; Bertha Black of Hunters Home, NB, Heather Black of Young's Cove, Brian Crawford of Halifax, NS; six grandchildren; Michael, Gregory, Melanie, Tammie, Jeremy, Anthony; three great grandchildren; Christopher, Brianna, and Brayden; and also by several nieces and nephews. Viola was predeceased by seven brothers and three sisters. The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Saturday 2-4 & 7-9vpm. A service celebrating Viola Mae's life will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Sunday, April 23, 2000 at 4:00 pm.
