Loretta Long was born in Annidale on August 27, 1903, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Crawford and Mary Ann (Gamblin) Northrup and was the wife of the late Arthur Long. Mrs. Loretta Ann Long of Sussex, NB, passed away at her residence on March 28, 2000 at the age of 96. Loretta will be remembered by two daughters; Hazel Wickens and her husband Rev. Edwin Wickens of Fredericton, Freda Steeves of Rothesay; three sons; Lawrence, Clarence both of Morrisburg, Ontario, John and his wife Violet of Sussex; two daughter-in-laws; Barbara Long of Sussex and Nellie Long of London, Ontario; 21 Grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren, also by several nieces and nephews. Loretta was predeceased by three sons; Harold, Ralph and Wesley; two grandsons; Paul and Philip; two great grandchildren; Amanda and Timothy. Loretta was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by three brothers; Walter, Arthur and Roy and two sisters; Janie Kilfillen and Lillie Clark. The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Wednesday 7-9 pm, Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm . A service celebrating Loretta Ann's life will be held from Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church on Friday, March 31, 2000 at 2:00 pm.
