Velma MacAuley was born in Carsonville on July 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Annie (MacKnight) Gregg and was the wife of the late Gerald MacAuley. Mrs. Velma Irene MacAuley of Waterford, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 8, 2000 at the age of 78. Besides her husband, Velma will be remembered by her daughters; Winnifred Vail of Hampstead, Maureen and her husband David Martin of Saint John, and Wendy and her husband Vivian Rapson of Pickering, Ont.; her son; Myles MacAuley and his companion Nettie Gailey of Millstream, her brothers; George and his wife Hazel Gregg of Penobsquis, and Ralph and his wife Laura Gregg of Jeffries Corner; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Velma was predeceased by her brothers; Arthur, Millidge, Harley, & Harry, and by her sister Essie Turner. The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM . A service celebrating Velma Irene's life will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 12, 2000 at 10:30 am.
