Grace McLeod was born in Gondola Point on May 10, 1902, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Emily (Parlee) Harrison and was the wife of the late Henry McLeod. Grace was a school teacher and taught at Young's Cove Road, Penobsquis, Apohaqui and the Sussex High School. Mrs. Grace Melvin McLeod of Apohaqui, passed away at the Scenic View Special Care Home on January 2, 2000 at the age of 97. Grace will be remembered by her daughter; Evlyn Flewelling and her husband George of Saint John; three sons; Roy and his wife Eleanor of Ottawa, Harold and his wife Aubrey of Fredericton, Douglas of Winnipeg; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters; Agnes Woodley of Gondola Point, Jean Harrison of Ottawa; a sister-in-law, Hazel McLeod of Moncton; and also by several nieces and nephews. Grace was predeceased by a brother; Clarence and a sister; Edith Juvet. The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM . A service celebrating Grace Melvin's life will be held from Penobsquis United Baptist on Wednesday, January 05, 2000 at 11:00 am.
