Obituary of Murray Smith
Murray Smith was born in Penobsquis on February 2, 1925, he was the
son of the late Elmer Smith and Bertha (Dunfield) and was the husband of the late Glendine (Smith) Smith.
Murray served overseas during WWII; he was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 20. He was an Orderly at the Kings County Memorial Hospital/Sussex Health Centre for over 35 years. Murray was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding devotion to the Aims and objects of The Royal Canadian Legion.
Mr. Murray Elmer Smith of Sussex, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on November 22, 1999 at the age of 74. Murray will be remembered by his one daughter; Sharon Murray and her husband, George of Saint John; three sons; Murray and his wife Janice of Hampton, Bruce and his wife Yvonne of Picadilly, Robert and his wife Dawnella of Picadilly; one sister; Dorothy Stavert of Freetown, PEI; ten grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and also by several nieces and nephews.
Murray was predeceased by a brother; Eugene.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Wednesday 7-9 pm, Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
A service celebrating Murray's life will be held from Sussex United Baptist Church on Friday, November 26, 1999 at 10:30 am. The interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Park.
