Obituary of Norman Thorne
Norman Thorne was born in Saint John on September 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Herman and Auttie (Cromwell) Thorne and was the husband of the late Judy (Munn) Thorne.
Norman was a graduate of Saint John High School. He began his career with the International Harvester Company and while with then, resided in Saint John, Sydney, Kentville and Fredericton. He was Truck Manager for Trainor GMC in Halifax before moving to Sussex as Manager of J. Clarke & Son Ltd. Norm was an ardent sportsman and was a respected member of Ducks Unlimited Canada. He was also interested in Politics and played an active role in that field. As a young man, Norm was a proud member of the Saint John High School and Montreal Junior Canadian Hockey Clubs.
Mr. Norman Alton Thorne of Sussex, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on November 13, 1999 at the age of 72. Norman will be remembered by his four sons; Rob and his wife Nahina of Moncton, Rick and his wife Lisa of Sussex, Marc and his wife Carol of Sussex, Mike and his companion Joanne Gionet of Fredericton; daughter; Vicki and her companion Mike Norrad of Fredericton; two sisters; Erminie Stewart of Oromocto, Constance Lamb of Saint John; six grandchildren; Michael, Adam, Rachel, Michael, Drew, Jessie; one great grandchild also by several nieces and nephews.
