Obituary of Peggy Stockton
Peggie Stockton was born in Stocksbridge on July 5, 1922, she was the daughter of the late James and Harriet (Linley) Mate and was the wife of the late Charles Stockton.
Peggie served in the RAF during WWII.
Mrs. Peggie Mate Stockton of Kiwanis Nursing Home formerly of Fowler Avenue, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on November 11, 1999 at the age of 77. Peggie will be remembered by her daughters; Susan and her husband Dr. Peter Brown of Cochrane, Ont., and Jane Stockton and her husband Dr. Kwasi Ampofo of Toronto, Ont., and by her son Andrew of Sussex, her brother Derek Mate and his wife Ninette of England, her half-brothers; Stuart Mate and his wife Joyce of England, and Peter Mate of England, her half-sister Betty Mate of Germany, cousins, Mrs. James Robinson of Sussex Corner and Mrs. Frank Millie of Boston; her grandchildren; Michael and Sarah Brown, Emily and Thea Ampofo, Kyla, Sally, and Jill Stockton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Peggie was predeceased by her brothers Harry & Victor Mate.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Friday 7-9 pm.
A service celebrating Peggie's life will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Saturday, November 13, 1999 at 2:00 pm. The interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery.
