Bliss Thorne was born in Coles Island on October 27, 1913, he was the son of the late Jason Thorne and Annie (Thorne) Thorne and was the husband of Myrtle (Hetherington) Thorne. Bliss was a member of the Cody's United Baptist Church. Mr. Bliss Charles Thorne of Coles Island passed away at the Sussex Health Center on August 30, 1999 at the age of 85. Besides his wife, Bliss is survived by his son, Charles and his wife; Irene of Collina, his step-sons; Ronald Perry and his wife Marie of Lower Cambridge, and Robert Perry and his wife Almedia of Saint John, his step-daughter, Shirley Doucette and her husband Gilbert of Sussex, a sister-in-law, Gladys Thorne, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bliss was predeceased by his brothers; Ralph, Carey, and Otty, his sister, Gladys Finn, his step-daughter Faye Frits and her husband Stanley Frits, and by a granddaughter, Ann Marie Frits. The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM . A service celebrating Bliss's life will be held from Cody's United Baptist Church on Thursday, September 2, 1999 at 2:00 pm.
