Obituary of Muriel Fletcher
Muriel Fletcher was born in Cody's on May 18, 1920, she was the
daughter of the late Robert and MaryJane (Hetherington) Mitchell and was the wife of the late Russell Fletcher.
Muriel was a member of the Coles Island United Baptist Church, and formerly of First Baptist Church, Halifax, NS, where she was active in the Sunday School and the Women's Missionary Society. She was active in the Coles Island Seniors Club and was a Zealous Bridge player. She taught school over thirty years throughout New Brunswick and in the Halifax- Dartmouth area, and was much loved by her students.
Mrs. Muriel J. Fletcher of Saint John, passed away at her residence on February 2, 1999 at the age of 78. Muriel will be remembered by her daughters; Sibyl Hamilton and her Husband Bill of Bridgetown, NS, Margaret Waye and her husband George of Halifax, NS; son; George Scott and his wife Mary of Miami, Florida; six grandchildren; Milton Hamilton, Fletcher Hamilton, Mary Jane Hamilton, Jennifer (Waye) Parkhill, Jonathan Waye, and Sarah Waye; three great grandchildren; Jonathan Parkhill, Jeffrey Scott Parkhill, Lauren Waye; also by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Muriel was predeceased by her brother; George and sisters; Margaret and Lois.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
A service celebrating Muriel's life will be held from Coles Island United Baptist Church on Thursday, February 4, 1999 at 5:00 pm. The interment will take place at Coles Island Cemetery.
