Walter Doney was born in Saint John on July 19, 1912, he was the son of the late Moses and Lalage (Vallis) Doney and was the husband of Rilla (Morton) Doney. Walter was retired from Maritime Beverages and was a member and the former caretaker of Sussex United Baptist Church. Mr. Walter Buxton Doney of Sussex, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on December 13, 1998 at the age of 86. Walter will be remembered by his son; Doug and his wife Susan of Sussex; sister; Audrey Merritt of Saint John; sister-in-law; Geraldine Doney of Hampton; three grandchildren; Brianne, Hayley and Ethan; also by several nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by two brothers; Arthur and Harry. The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A service celebrating Walter's life will be held from Sussex United Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 16, 1998 at 2:00 pm.
