Obituary of Patricia Rouse
Patricia Roberta Rouse of Route 2, Keirstead Mountain, NB passed away at her residence on Thursday, November 30, 2000, after a courageous struggle with cancer.
Pat was born on Whites Mountain on May 31, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Frederick and Vera (Travis) (Brewing) Doucette.
Pat is survived by her husband, Floyd Alvin Rouse, 2 daughters, Faye McKnight of Marrtown and Judy Rouse of Keirstead Mountain; 4 sons, Eric and Terri of Sweethome, Oregon, Robert and Cindy of Kingston, NB, Bill and Jan of Collina and Craig and Carrie of Marrtown; a daughter in law, Wanda of Keirstead Mountain and a special daugthter, Ruby of Keirstead Mountain; her sister Jackie Mallory and Bernard of Sussex Corner; 30 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Pat was predeceased by two sons, Earle and Gerald, November 24, 2000 and a son in law Larry McKnight.
Pat was a member of the Keirstead Mountain United Baptist Church and the Keirstead Mountain Aid. She was a former emploee of the Timberland Motor Inn and Restaurant and Canada Packers.
Pat was a loving wife, a precious mother, a great sister, our Granny Pat, a true friend to all. She always looked for the good in people and she always had an open door policy and a pot of coffee ready. She enjoyed reading, quilting, knitting, crafts, playing cards, traveling and loving her family and all children. Christmas was a favorite time of the year for Mum and she enjoyed tormenting Dad about upsetting the tree. Mum and Gerald will truly be missed by all.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, Sussex, where funeral services were held on Sunday, December 3, 2000. Rev. Kevin Vincent officiated with a recorded message sent from the former pastor Rev Wally Frank. Her son, Robert and granddaughter Michelle Simpson, sang for the service, accompanied by John Warren on the guitar. The eulogy was given by Tammy Milbury
Honorary pallbearers were Robert Brown, George Chown, Dick Forgraves, Wayne Perry, Lloyd Sleep, Murray Steen, Jim Watters and Mac Wright. Cremation occured at Fern Hill Cemetery, Saint John.
May she rest in peace in the places she loved.
Numerous floral arrangements and memorial donations were made to various organizations: The Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB, Keirstead Mountain United Baptist Church-Cemetery, building and window funds, Collina United Baptist Church, Lower Millstream United Baptist Church and Cemetery Funds, United Church of Canada Millstream Pastoral Charge, Woodland United Church and Cemetery Fund, Alzheimer's Society, Pearsonville Woodland United Church and St. Marks Anglican Church Rectory.
