Eldon was born in Salt Springs on July 29, 1907; he was the son of the late Joseph Herbert and Maude Elizabeth (Mitchell) Mercer. Eldon spent most of his life farming. Eldon will live on in the hearts of his wife Mary; his daughters: Pauline Parlee and her husband Walter of Waterford and Ruby Mercer of Ratters Corner; his son: Maynard and his wife Adelia of Plumweseep; four brother: Joseph of Ratters Corner, Kenneth of Apohaqui, Hazen of Ratters Corner and Carl of Hartford, USA; three sisters; Della Mercer of Hartford USA, Ruby Atherton and her husband Robert of Greenwood, NS and Barbara Buchanan and her husband Fred of Petitcodiac; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Eldon Joseph Mercer of Sussex, passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on July 26, 1993 at the age of 85. He is predeceased by: his son, Eric. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Wednesay, July 28 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
