Obituary of Dorothy Joanna Briggs
Mrs. Dorothy Joanna Briggs was born in April 10 1904 in Carsonville, she was the daughter of the late Wilmot and Elizabeth Joanne (Northrup) Parlee.
Dorothy was a housewife and loved every moment of caring for her family. She was a member of the Carsonville United Church, the women's institute, a life member of UCW, a member of the Millstream Regional Senior Citizens organist at Carsonville United Church and very active in community functions. She knit during WWII for the soldiers overseas.
She is that last surviving member of her immediate family.
Dorothy will live on in the hearts of her daughters: Elizabeth Riedle and her husband Burton of Carsonville and Marion Fenton and her husband Bernard of Carsonville; her sons: Arthur W. Briggs of Lister of BC, Douglas W. Briggs of Carsonville, Hillis A. Briggs of Carsonville and Richard W. Briggs of Sudbury, Ontario; 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dorothy Joanna Briggs of Sussex, passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on December 15, 1993 at the age of 89.
She was a predeceased by her brother, Hillis A. Parlee; as well as three grandchildren: Douglas, Carolyn and Mishelle.

A service celebrating Dorothy's life will be held from Carsonville United Church on Friday, December 17, 1993 at 2:00pm.
