Naydia & Nicolas, please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your father. He was a friend that could be relied on to follow through on his promises. I first worked with him in Stephenville in 1973 and again on Sable Island in 1974 where 3 of us Upper Air Techs and our wives shared the OIC’s house together for several weeks. Interesting and fun times (sand in the bathtub - not so much fun). Paul was also my supervisor for the last 8 years of my career. I couldn’t have asked for a more knowledgeable and considerate person to work for. Paul was resourceful and a great problem solver.
Paul was proud of and spoke often of his 2 children and I hope you (Naydia & Nicolas) know how well respected he was by his friends and co-workers.
Paul had a passion for his cars and I fondly remember riding with him on a few warm summer days in his MG and Chevelle.
Thinking of Paul and his connection to Sable Island reminds me of the saying: ‘While it is well enough to leave footprints on the sands of time, it is even more important to make sure they point in a commendable direction’. Mission accomplished, Paul.

I have many great memories of my time spent with Paul. (I even had the pleasure of being
‘Best Man’ at their wedding in Stephenville).

Paul was a long and faithful friend to me and my wife Deb. He replaced me in postings to Goose Bay and Sable before we met when he was transferred to Stephenville. We quickly became friends and spent countless days snowmobiling in the back country as well as sports like badminton and softball.
We stayed in touch over the years and often met up at national meetings and other travel. Paul was true to himself and had no interest in being anything else. I will always remember him for his generosity, loyalty, and sense of humour. In the workplace, his work ethic and attention to detail always stood out. When Paul took on a job, he simply did it right.
Farewell my friend - your ashes will have found their rightful place on Sable.

To me Paul was a perfect gentleman, complimented by a board smile and gentle manner. One of the great memories was being asked by Paul if I wished to join them and 2 other met techs on a flight from Goose Bay - where I was visiting at the time - to Hopedale where they were dropped off to conduct repairs to the met station. Following the drop off the aircraft flew on to Nain (on a bright sunny October day) to drop off Newfoundland Power crew and supplies. What a thrill to see the Torngat Mountains and their snow covered peaks on one side of the aircraft and the blue Atlantic and scattered small bergs. I can still see the bluffs of trees in their orange colour as we made an approach into Nain. We landed 30 minutes prior to sundown and immediately returned to Goose Bay on a bright moonlite night. . A memory to last a lifetime - Thanks Paul.
