The death of Winifred “Winnie” Mary Buchanan of the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex occurred on October 23, 2008 at the age of 90. Born in Sheffield, England a daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Cairns) Moody, she was the wife of the late William Buchanan who passed away in 1957. Winnie is survived by her daughter Connie Parlee (Wayne) of Picadilly, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, sisters; Margaret Rudner (Mo) of Montreal, Joan Grant of St. Stephen, Iris VanWart of Thunder Bay, ON and Cynthia Palin (Frank) of Nanaimo, BC. She was predeceased by children; Barbara Meredith, Norma Newell, Brenda Buchanan and Burton and Brian Buchanan and a sister Olive McKenna. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Sunday from 2-6PM. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday October 27, 2008 at 10:00AM in the funeral home chapel with Father Arnie Hachey officiating. Interment will be at Kirk Hill Cemetery, Sussex.
