Obituary of Harold Frederick Norrad
The death of Harold Frederick Norrad of Queen Street, Sussex occurred on Sunday November 24, 2002. Harold is the husband of Helen B. (Doherty) Norrad. He was born on January 11, 1921 at Boiestown, NB, a son of the late Willard E. and Helen (Sutherland) Norrad. Besides his wife, Harold is survived by his daughters Mary Norrad of Sussex and Beth Norrad of Oakville, ON, granddaughters Jennifer and Kathryn, sisters; Judy (Paul) Huggard of Saint John, Zola “Timmy” Price of Fredericton, brothers Doug of Sussex, Ralph (Verna) and Richard (Corrine) of Fredericton and Donald “Red” (Ila) of Florida. Harold was predeceased by a sister Lona “Teete” Scott and two brothers Murray and Gordon “Dode”. Harold was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Carleton York regiment; he was a member of Zion Lodge No. 21 F. & A.M., the Luxor Temple, the Sussex Shrine Club and the Sussex Vale Golden “K” Club. Harold founded Norrad Chrysler in 1968 and operated it until his retirement. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Rd. Sussex (506-433-2133) on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Zion Lodge #21 F. & A.M. will hold a Masonic Tribute at the funeral home Thursday evening at 6:45 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday November 29, 2002 at the Trinity Anglican Church, Sussex at 2:00 PM, with Reverend David Barrett officiating. Interment will be in Kirk Hill Cemetery, Sussex. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
