Obituary of Anne Myers

The family of Anne Myers of Sussex New Brunswick wishes to announce her peaceful passing at home after a courageous battle with cancer, she left us on May 3, 2022. Anne was born July 12, 1940 she was the wife of the late Patrick Myers and daughter of Gordon and Ethel (Coombs) Hooper. After early lives spent in East Saint John and summers in Charlotte County NB they chose to move their young family to Belleisle Creek and spent most of their lives in a rural setting enjoying the outdoors whenever they could. When it was time to live a simpler life they moved to Sussex NB surrounded by neighbours who supported them in many ways.

In Anne’s early years she enjoyed her job as a switchboard operator for NB Tel. For seven years Anne was an original member of the board of directors for Bayview Credit Union but her most loved and important job was being a wife to Pat and a mother to her four children. Dale of Belleisle Creek NB, Jeff (Cathi) of St. Margaret’s Bay NS, Lisa (Bobby) of Sussex NB, Paula (Bruce) of Quispamsis NB; grandchildren Gavin Raymond, Dayton Raymond, Anthony (Roma) Myers, Levi Cooper ; great grandchildren Ava, Landon, Chase and Ty.

Anne was the oldest of seven children, she was predeceased by Vera (Paul) Gallant, survived by Cecil Hooper, Gloria (Roy) McLean, Linda (Dale)Totten, Kevin (Debbie) Hooper and Chris (Beth) Hooper; several nieces and nephews.

Music was a daily part of Anne’s life, The Keyhole was visited often, Bluegrass festivals all over NB , PEI and Maine were frequented, in later years they spent every week at the Seniors Center in Hampton with their musical family, she never had to be encouraged to dance of or sing it just came naturally. Long walks in the woods were enjoyed on the farm land that Anne and Pat maintained over a number of years cutting their own wood, gathering berries and enjoying the wildlife. Church was important to Anne; she served many years with the ACW in Belleisle Creek.

She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2022 from 1-3pm followed by a Celebration of Anne’s life at 3pm.
