Gone From My Sight by Henry Van Dyke
I am standing upon the seashore
A ship at my side spreads his white
sails to the morning breeze and starts
for the blue ocean.
He is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch him until at length
He hangs like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come
to mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says;
"There, he is gone!"
"Gone where?"
Gone from my sight. That is all.
He is just as large in mast and hull
and spar as he was when he left my side and he is just as able to bear his
load of living freight to his destined port. His diminished size is in me, not in him.
And just at the moment when someone
at my side says, "There, he is gone!"
There are other eyes watching him coming,
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout;
‘’Here he comes!"
And that is dying.

Very sorry to hear of Leo's passing, I worked with Leo for a few years with Cementation sinking the first two shafts and during exploration, very hard worker and he could fix or build just about anything, Condolences to Leo's family.

Uncle Leo, dear godfather, even if it’s been a long time since I saw you, I’ve always had fond memories of you and Catherine, among other things, of the time when you came to stay at the duplex in Rosemont and you moved me from my bed to the sofa in the living room, Because you occupied my room during your stays in Montreal, know that I never resented you! Rest in peace dear uncle and my deepest sympathies to Catherine with whom I exchanged Christmas cards not so long ago, as well as to my three cousins!

Dear Catherine, Natalie, Chantal, Joanne & Families:
Our sincere condolences on the loss of your wonderful Husband, Dad & Grandpa - Leo was "one of a kind", and his presence on the "Back Road" will certainly be missed! Our family farm could not have asked for a better neighbor than Leo. He was so willing to share his talent and experience with fixing just about anything that needed fixing! Leo's stories were retold many times over, as they were as unique as he was, and always brought a smile to many faces!
