Obituary of Lila Patterson

It is with heavy hearts the family of Lila Patterson announce her passing which occurred on Friday, September 23, 2022, at her residence.  Lila was the daughter of the late Maurice Warren & Freda (Swinford) Lockhart and stepdaughter of Lloyd Lockhart.  She was the wife of the late Glendon Patterson.

Lila will live on in the hearts of many including her son Jeffrey (Janet); granddaughters Jerika, Jesika; special friend Sawyer; sister Penny and her adoptive Wheeler family: Terry, Judy, Wayne, Cathy, Sharon, Kim, Chris, Andrea and their spouses.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Sharon and Heather as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lila was very proud of her son Jeffrey and knew she could count on him and Janet when needed.  She enjoyed card games, reading, and summer sister trips especially near water! She was a great cook, baker, and jam maker.  She was a busy woman in pickling season – making her own and especially trying to teach the sisters!

She will be missed by many special friends as well as family.

Special thanks to Lila’s home care workers and the Sussex Extra Mural staff for the exceptional care given during her illness.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) and will be held privately.
