Obituary of Doug Briggs

It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas Wheaton Briggs announces his passing, which occurred on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Kiwanis Nursing Home. Born in Carsonville, NB, on November 13, 1931, he was a son of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Parlee) Briggs.

Douglas is survived by his daughters: Sharon (Roly) Pretty of Vancouver, BC, Patricia (Cedric) Williams of Sussex Corner, NB, Charlene (Philip) Parlee of Dutch Valley, NB; sons: David (Lori) Briggs of McGregor Brook, NB, Michael (Jennie) Briggs of Lawrencetown, NS; his sisters: Marion Fenton and Elizabeth Reidle; his grandchildren: Morgan, Arlynn, Dylan, Jason, Jennifer, Scott, Rachel, Jarrod, Ashlyn, Matthew, Todd; his great-grandchildren: Elijah, Maddox, Raiden, Chayton, Ezra, Chantale, Chelsey, Jack, Hannah, Clayton, Aubrey, Grace, Stella, Dax, Caroline, Austin, Grayson, Jayden; along with several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by his first spouse, Gail (Toogood) Briggs; his second spouse, Cora (McMillan) Briggs; his son Dougie; and his brothers: Arthur, Hillis and Richard.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506) 433-1176 from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 2 to 4PM.  Funeral service will be held from Carsonville United Church (1 Frazee Road, Carsonville) on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:00AM. 

Memorial donations in memory of Douglas, may be made to the Carsonville Cemetery or charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through wallacefuneralhome.com
