Obituary of Doreen Rankine
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Doreen Rankine announce her passing at home on December 31, 2022 at the age of 96.
Born in Saint John, NB on September 8, 1926; she was the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Allaby) Oram and the wife of the late Arthur Rankine who passed away in 1986.
Doreen was such a smart, classy, sometimes obstinate lady who loved books, the sun and a good Scotch.
She will live on in the hearts of her daughter, Libby and Andy Morrison of Apohaqui; her son-in-law, Bruce Jennings of New Hampshire; her grandchildren: Nathan Collins (Ashley), AJ Blank (Nora), Peter Blank (Natalia), Tristan Jennings (Shelby), Sumner Rankine (Melissa), Emmerson Rankine (Shannon) and Garland Rankine (Sarah); her nieces: Colleen Smith (Bobby) and Marda Oram and her nephews: John Robert Smith (Ethel), Jim Oram (Andrea), Albert Oram (Susan) and Barry Oram; great nieces: Shawna Smith (Ben), Sabrina Steeves, Samantha (William) Campbell, Katie Campbell and Kristin Campbell and her great nephews: Jeremy Smith (Kelly) and William McCoy; as well as several great grandchildren and extended family members.
Along with her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her son, Robert Rankine; her daughter, Candice Jennings; her sister, Myrna Smith; her brother, Frank Oram, her niece, Debbie Smith; her nephews: Wayne Smith and Brett Oram.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB. A Celebration of Life for Doreen will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Wednesday, February 8 from 4-7pm.
