Obituary of Raymond Harold O'Neill
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Raymond Harold O’Neill on February 9th 2023 at his residence in Sussex NB. He was born to Bernard & Josephine (Mallory) O’Neill on October 31, 1972.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters: Rose (Brian) Cossaboom of Sussex NB, Jeannie MacDonald of Sussex NB, Georgina O’Neill of Sussex NB, and Tammy (David) Wortman of Sussex NB; and his brother, Leonard O’Neill of Brampton ON; his nephews: Justin, Cory, and Brad; his nieces: Wendy, Amanda, Samantha, Tabitha, Shelilla, and Iris; as well as aunts, uncles, many great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Last, but not least, his fur-baby Jessie, the Jack Russell.
Along with his parents, Ray was predeceased by his grandparents: Joseph & Blanche O’Neill, Harley & Molly Mallory; his brother, Otty O’Neill, his brothers-in-law, Bruce Greensled and Emery MacDonald, and his sister, Mary Ann O’Neill – Gould.
Raymond O’Neill, Ray, or Uncle Ray to some, enjoyed living life to the fullest and making every day count. He was independent, smart, dependable, and a helpful kind of guy. He loved helping friends and family and spending time with them joking, laughing, and sometimes arguing that he was right. He was an honest, kind man, who wore his heart on his sleeve, and would drop his beer to run and help as long as you bring him straight back home to his fur-baby, Jessie. His passion was mechanics. He loved tearing things apart and repairing them and was a real natural at it like his grandfather, Harley Mallory. Ray was Larry Sommerville and Jeannie’s right-hand man and he repaired everything from cars to houses. He feared water but would go fishing with his sister, Jeannie, at all the local fishing spots. Ray liked to spend time with family and friends at home entertaining them or out for a joy ride, biking. He appreciated the help he would get in the garage from best friends and family. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with anyone who would listen. He loved to crank his 80’s rock music or enjoy listening to someone play guitar by the campfire and making memories that will last forever in everyone’s hearts.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Dean, Rick Smith, Randy Mercer, Cole Hutton, Larry Sommerville, Bernard Easton, Doug Mallory
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where a visitation will be held on Saturday, February 18 from 2-6pm.
