Obituary of Alice Dorothy Treadwell
Mrs. Alice Dorothy Treadwell was born in Harewood Canaan, NB on February 28, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Jane (Carr) McArthur.
Alice was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 20, Ladies Auxillary, and she was a member of the Senior Citizens of Sussex.
Alice is survived by her husband, Aldred Treadwell; her daughters: Joan Buchanan of Sussex, Dorothy Westerberg of Sussex and Joanne Patterson of Sussex; her sons: David G. Patterson of Chatman and George Patterson and his wife Holly of Thunder Bay, Ontario; her stepdaughter, Donna Baird of Etobicoke, Ontario and her stepson, Paul Treadwell and his wife Velna of Newcastle; her brothers: Harry Carr of Hampton, Johnny McArthur and Gordon McArthur both of Sussex; her brother-in-law, Harry Treadwell, of Newcastle; her sisters-in-law: Dorothy Mountain, Ruth Nagle, Lucy McVicar, Florence McCarthur, Edie McArthur and Marie Patterson; 14 Grandchildren, 1 Great Granddaughter; as wella s several nieces, nephews and a God Daughter.
Mrs. Alice Dorothy Treadwell of Newcastle, passed away on September 27, 1997 at the age of 72.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her 1st husband Charles Patterson; her son, Gordon; her brother, Albert; her sister, Mildred Nagle and her sisters-in-law: Violet Dyer and Irene Prosser.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation was held.
A service celebrating Alice’s life was held from Salvation Army Citadel on Tuesday, September 30, 1997 at 2:00 pm.
