To Judy and all of the family: Words can not be scripted to express the sadness that I feel writing another condolence message for yet another cousin. Wayne was very special to Dale and me because it was he who brought us into the family. Coincidently, our Newfoundland friend and neighbour found herself in need of a taxi in Saint John. Cousin Wayne, by way of good fortune, happened to have been the taxi driver who answered the call. Through friendly conversation, no chore for Wayne, it was learned that the passenger was currently living in Newfoundland and had a friend whose surname was Stagg. Wayne pieced things together, telephone numbers were exchanged, contacts were established, and arrangements made to meet. After nearly half a lifetime, Dale and I were introduced into the family and accepted with warm and wide arms.
It was clear that family was important to Wayne, and we saw this firsthand when he visited us this past summer in Newfoundland. Standing on the exact spot where his father was born and grew up, he embraced me while allowing a tear to freely flow. He was filling a life-long desire that was special to him. We were happy to have experienced it with him. At the end of his trip, I asked him what it was that he enjoyed the most. His answer was, “spending time with you and Dale.” That was Wayne. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Am so gutted to read all of his obit. He was truly an amazing man and loved by all who knew him. Candy man was a good description as I loved to see the look on his face when he got my fudge. We truly bonded at the Sharing Shop via the clothes hangers - those who knew him and worked there will get the meaning. He was an amazing guy and truly love by all of us and especially his devoted wife - Judy. Am sure he will be watching over all of us.
