Obituary of Lois Perry

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lois Arlene Stella Perry announce her passing at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on July 3, 2023 at the age of 91.

Born in Waterborough, NB on April 24, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mabel (Cross) Stilwell.

Lois was a hardworking, strong, and independent woman. You never had to wonder what she was thinking as she always spoke her mind. She was a sweetheart and loved and accepted everyone she met and made each of her children’s partner feel like they were family from the start. She was one of a kind, a rare find, the true epitome of a kindhearted and loving woman.

Her first love was her family; especially her grandchildren. Followed closely of course by her love of animals; especially cats.

She enjoyed playing Bingo, knitting and crocheting, reading, listening to music, playing cards, gardening and of course time spent meeting new people.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She will live on in the hearts of her children: John Perry of Codys, Paul Perry and his wife Anita of Vernon, BC, Catherine Kennedy of Youngs Cove, Judson Perry of Edmonton, Susan Ganong and her husband Ron of Kiersteadville, Jean Dempsey an Sylvain Englehart of Dunlop, Michael Perry and his wife Norma of Cumberland Bay, Andrew Perry and his wife Shelley of Salmon Creek and David Perry of Quispamsis; her sisters-in-law: Ingrid Stillwell and Dorothy Stilwell; her special nephew, Brian Stilwell; 18 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Elisha Perry; her siblings: Buddy Stilwell, Shirley Stillwell, Eugene Stilwell and Yvonne Stilwell and by her son-in-law, Christopher Kennedy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Dr. Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A Celebration of Lois’ life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Saturday, July8, 2023 at 2:00pm. The interment will be held privately.

Donations in memory of Lois may be made to Waterborough Baptist Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through wallacefuneralhome.com.

The family would like to express their deepest thanks and appreciation to her caregivers, Tracey and Amelia from Integrity, Dr. Gregory Haines and the nurses and staff of Marsh Haven Special Care Home and Kiwanis Nursing Home for all of their kindness, care and compassion. It will never be forgotten.
