Obituary of Everett Hamilton

It is with deep sadness that the family of Everett Cecil Hamilton, husband of Donna (Prosser) Hamilton announces his passing on Wednesday 23rd, 2023 at the Sussex Health Center. Everett was born in Cedar Camp on July 2nd, 1934, a son of the late Norman and Hazel (McGarrigle) Hamilton.

Everett worked on cars all his life. After retirement there were many people in our yard asking for help with their vehicles. He enjoyed gardening and most of all his family visits from his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ev was looking forward to his 7th great grandchild, a little girl to be born in early September. 

Besides his wife Donna of 64 years Everett is survived by his sons Stephen (Connie) of Moncton; Donnie of Plumweseep; his daughter Karen (Eric Cunningham) of Moncton;grandchildren: Jeremy (Kristen), Adam (Sarah), Marley (Tim Churchill), Tyler (Lauryn), and Brianne (Julien Sommerville); great-grandchildren: Cayden and Kaya Hamilton, Parker and Cohen McGinnis, Makayla and Cassidy Churchill; sister-in-laws Audrey Law of Dartmouth and Helen Bryant of Sussex; and brother-in-law Maurice and Debbie Prosser of South Branch; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Everett was predeceased by his son-in-law David Trueman; sister and her husband Marjorie and George Drabiuk; mother and father-in-law Majorie and James Prosser; step-mother Evaline Prosser; his brother-in-laws Gordon Prosser, Truman Law, and Murray Bryant. 

The family wishes to thank Dr. Ray Butler, Extra Mural Nurses and Staff of Sussex Health Center for their excellent care and kindness during Everett’s stay in the hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday August 29th, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Plumweseep cemetery for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Everett may be made to St. Paul’s United Church Benevolent fund, Sussex Elementary School Breakfast Program or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through wallacefuneralhome.com.
