Obituary of Janet Scribbans

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Janet Scott Scribbans announce her passing at the Sussex Health Centre on September 8, 2023 at the age of 92.

Born in Saint John on January 31, 1931; she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Cecelia (Hansen) Veniot and the wife of the late Walter Samuel Scribbans who passed away in 1991.

Janet was a hard-working Real Estate Agent until her retirement and a proud member of the Brunswick Belles and the Sussex Choral Society. She had a passion for music and song and knitting socks, scarves and mitts. She loved outings and traveling, especially her trips and cruises with Marge, her shopping trips to the states and her drives in the country with Ice Capp in hand.

She will live on in the hearts of her children: Shane and his wife Marge of Baxters Corner, Patrick and Sue of Killam’s Mills, Stacie and his wife Tammy of Belleisle Creek and Shelle McKay and her husband Jeff of Debert, NS; her daughter-in-law, Shaun Scribbans and John of Sussex; her brother-in-law, Mark Walker of Calgary; her brother, Robert “Bob” Veniot of Saint John and Patricia “Pat” Logan of Milledgeville; her grandchildren: Charlene (Jay), Chris (Amanda), Shannon (John), Jessie, Anthony (Pam), Kim (Martin), Tyler, Tanya, Trisha (Steven) and Wyatt; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Along with her parents and loving husband, she is predeceased by her daughter, Beverley Walker.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). At Janet’s request all arrangements will be held privately.
