Obituary of Ray Wilson
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Walter “Raymond” Wilson announce his passing at the Sussex Health Centre on September 18, 2023 at the age of 91. Born in Saint John on April 12, 1932; he was the son of the late Walter and Mabel (Reed) Wilson.
Ray worked alongside his wife for many years. He worked in the automotive industry but was also a jack of all trades and especially enjoyed woodworking – his hands were never idle.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He will live on in the hearts of his loving wife of 70 years, Marjorie (Nichols); his children: Debby Murtagh (David) of Carsonville and Steven Wilson (Joanne) of Quispamsis; his grandchildren: Matthew (Melissa), Jennifer (Randy), Lenny (Robyn) and Alec; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his daughter, Kimberley Wilson and by his brothers: Lawrence, Bobby and Douglas Wilson.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the extra mural and IV Day clinic nurses for their support and compassionate care shown to Ray during his illness. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). At Ray’s request all arrangements will be held privately.
