Obituary of Reynold Matthew Mallory
It is with great sadness that the family of Reynold Matthew Mallory announces his passing, which occurred on October 30, 2023, at the Sussex Health Centre. Born in Poodiac, NB, on April 7, 1941, he was a son of the Late Cecil and Ethel (Matthews) Mallory.
Reynold worked many years at Brunswick lab. He had a great love for wood whether it was working in the woods or creating beautiful things out of wood. He loved the outdoors, gardening, fishing or mowing the lawn. He took great pride in outdoor space. He especially enjoyed his gazebo that he received for his 80th birthday and couldn't wait to set it up every spring. But his biggest love was his family. He and Mona were a team, always working together and were each other's strength. He was a wonderfully devoted father to Donna. His grandchildren and great granddaughter were the light of his life. Nothing brought a smile to his face like seeing or hearing what they were up to. He was extremely proud of each and every one of them. He was always willing to give a helping hand anyone who needed it. He appeared quiet in nature, but liked to tease whenever he could. Good natured and never complaining is how he will be remembered.
Reynold is survived by his loving wife, Mona (McShane) Mallory of Apohaqui, NB; his daughter: Donna (Jimmy) Vande Brand of Plumweseep, NB; his grandchildren: Trevor (Melanie), Dustin (Bekah), and Brianna (Will); his great-granddaughter, Madelynn; his brothers: Gerald (Gladys) of Newline Road, NB, Willard (Norma) of Sussex Corner, NB, and Donald (Joan) of Cumberland Road, NB; his sisters-in law: Alice Mallory of Dutch Valley, NB and Anne Mallory of Sussex, NB. Reynold is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Reynold was predeceased by his brothers: Fred, Alvin, and Raymond; and his sisters: Elizabeth Proctor, Eileen MacDonald, Shirley Goddard, and Glenna Mallory.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176), from where a visitation will take place on Thursday, November 2 from 1-3; 6-8pm. A celebration of Reynold’s life will take place on Friday, November 3 at 11:00am, from Atlantic Community Church (78 Route 880 Apohaqui, NB).
