Obituary of Joan Ryder

It is with heavy hearts and tears in our eyes that we announce the passing of Joan Carolyn Ryder. Joan was born in Saint John, NB, March 5, 1944. Joan is predeceased by her mother Sybil Giggey (Stackhouse) of Saint John, her father Wilbert Giggey of Saint John, and her brother John Giggey of Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia.  

Joan was the beloved wife of Donald Murray Ryder of Sussex, NB, for 53 years. Joan also was the beloved mother of 5 children. Donald Jr, Clifton, Andrew, Brandi and Brendon. She was also loved dearly by many extended family members including many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. 

Joan spent her life helping others. This includes those who required special care, those she met in her house-to-house ministry, her family and those in her congregation. Joan was known for her kind heart, warm smile, encouraging words and infectious laugh.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Dr., Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). 

A celebration of life Joan’s life will take place at the

Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses,

1155 Main Street Sussex Corner.
