Jim and the McCullum family, sorry to learn of Roy's passing, he was a champion and active member for the community, something we need more of these days! One of my memories of Roy was being by the Barn, it was winter and likely -20+, everyone there was well bundled up like Eskimos and out comes Roy from the barn wearing a pair of 50s style basketball sneakers... talk about using summer tires in the winter, we all laughed as Roy "spun" his way up the hill to the house. My fondest childhood memories are of the farm. I couldn’t wait for school to end because grandpa (Frank Jones) would get me and I would spend the summers in Canada. I’ma camper at Scenic View. I met Roy several years ago during one of our Sunday scrambles. He always has a smile and would make a point of chatting with me when he was there.
One particular Sunday, Roy and I were partners. As we were driving down the third hole, I asked him about his family. Did he have kids, etc. we were on the 7th hole before he was done telling me all about his kids, Grand kids, and more. I sure could tell he loved his family.

Dave, Brian and the entire McCullum family,
Please accept our sympathy on Roy's passing. A very gentle man with great passion. I was speaking to Roy when he was guarding the Christmas Kettle last year. He was on his 40th, 2 hour shift in 2022. Just an amazing man.
I spoke with him on how he turned his pens on his lathe. He asked me to drop over and he would teach me. I wish I had, and I will never forget his offer.

When I started dating Chris, who now I’ve been married to for almost ten years, he introduced me to the McCullum family who he considered his family. He explained how he wanted to live on the farm because he had lost his father at the age of 12 and needed to learn the things a father would teach a son and that is what Roy did for him and Chris loved him dearly and respected him for all the knowledge he instilled in him.
Roy would com into the Town Office when I worked there and couldn’t wait to tease me about being a Yankee because I was dating Chris! He also wanted hugs and loved to tease me constantly! When Chris would come home from his hunting outings with Roy, he would tell me all the funny stories of what happened that day and would imitate Roy’s voice when telling me what he said! I would laugh so hard hearing about their crazy day!

I am so sorry to hear of Roy's passing. I thought the world of him. Everytime I seen him he always had a big smile and a little pat on my back and ask me how I was doing? I remember his involvement in the Saint John Ambulance when I was a cadet. He will be remembered by all that had the pleasure to have met him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am so very sorry to read of the passing of Roy! I first met him when the garden was down by the river and two of the boys(Terry and Jimmy I think)were on the ground wrestling.Don asked Roy if he would sell us a piece of the pasture and we built our house there in 1973 and owned it until 2021.Roy and Muriel were very good neighbours.My memories of Roy are all good memories.When he came into the store he would always pause for a chat and once Tina started working there he would to come in and tease her.A great guy who will be missed by family and friends alike!
