To all the Hawthorne Family, living the life on the chipseal crew for 9 years with Bob was an experience to say the least, but one I am glad to have been a part of. Bob also had a serious side to him, and that was talking of family and how he loved them.

I have sooooo many memories of Bobby it is hard to isolate just one. Always the man with a joke, sometimes a "Dad" joke and sometimes ummm a "colourful" one. He was a man who loved life and indeed loved his family. He will be missed by so many of us, for so many reasons. He was part of the "family" who became like my own family after moving to NB in 1977. He was known for his pranks, one that literally scared the begeebus out of me, that to this day, I've never forgotten nor quite forgave! Always the proverbial tease, but in times of hardship came through like the warrior he is Bob, I hope you've met up with your family by now and that you are trying to find a way of comforting your family and friends who damn well miss you already!!! You can take comfort in the fact that your kids have grown into wonderful adults and they have you to thank for that. Until we meet again dear Friend. Love always Karen Doyle Gallant and Gord Gallant. Sydney, NS
