Obituary of Bernice Wallace
After a long and fulfilling life the family of Bernice Evelyn (Reid) Wallace announce her passing at the Sussex Health Centre on March 23, 2024.
Born in Sussex, NB on August 21, 1925; she was the daughter of the late Hilyard and Blanche (Arnold) Reid and the wife of the late Ronald A. Wallace who passed away in 2013.
Bernice graduated from Sussex High School in 1942. She went on to study at the Modern Business College and started her career at the Royal Bank in Sussex. She later went on to work alongside her husband Ronald in the insurance business and doing income tax.
After retiring from the insurance business Bernice enjoyed working in the trucking business at Kingsco transport where she made many friends.
She was a member of the Trinity Anglican Church and a passed member of the Girl Guides.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Green (Alfie Smith); her children: Robin Green and his wife Denise and their children Reilly and Carter and Aaron Green and his wife Megan; her son, Bill Wallace and his wife Lynn and their children: Sam (Tori) and Emma Balshaw and her husband Aidan; her daughter, Jayne Clarke and her husband David and their children: Laura, Katie and Jennifer; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Wallace; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Along with her parents and her loving husband, she is predeceased by her son-in-law, Fraser Green; her brothers: Kenneth (Louise) and Douglas Reid (Marion); her sisters: Freda Reid and Vivienne Tabor (Lorne); her sisters-in-law: Jean Holden (Arthur) and Helen Ness (Ray) and by her brothers-in-law: George Wallace (Lil) and John Wallace.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 6-8pm. A Celebration of Bernice’s life will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 853 Main Street Sussex NB, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 1pm. The interment will take place in Pioneer Cemetery.
