Obituary of Matthew Hardy

It is with broken hearts that the family of Matthew Hardy announce his passing on April 2, 2024 at the age of 32.

He was born in Sussex on July 15, 1991, he was the son of Susan Forgrave and the late Stephen Hardy.

Matthew was a man with a huge heart; always caring for others first before himself. He would give the shirt off his back to someone in need.

Family was very important to him, he spent three and a half years looking after his grandfather and could almost always be found spending time with his mom.

Matthew liked to plant trees and flowers and shrubs, spend time hanging out with his friends and he loved his dogs and cats.

His smile and his kind and loving heart will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.

He will live on in the hearts of his mom and dad, Susan and Chris Forgrave; his sisters: Jessica Hardy (Akash) and Ashley Forgrave (Dennis); his uncles: Eugene Teakles, Kenneth Foster, Wayne Hardy and Philip Hardy; as well as several cousins and extended family members.

Along with his father, he is predeceased by his maternal grandparents: Mavis and Winston Teakles; his paternal grandparents: Naomi and Eugene Hardy and by his aunt, Carol Foster.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 1-4pm. A Celebration of Matthew’s life will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 11:00am.
