My earliest memory of Verna is when she and Clyde (my cousin) were first dating. He brought her to meet us in Brown’s Flat. We adored her immediately and that adoration and love was everlasting. In spite of life’s challenges Verna always took the high road. She demonstrated her kindness, caring and compassion to everything and everyone. Without question Verna is the nicest person I’ve ever met! I will miss her greatly (especially our most recent curling chats). My sincere condolences to the family. I met Verna as a Bridge Player, oh what fun and challenges we met. No matter when, where or why, she was always the same. We had such compassion for each other as life took us on our journey! My final Christmas gift from Verna was a New Brunswick tartan scarf. She loved it and knew I would also. I am so grateful for every minute I spent with Verna. I was not prepared for this happening but I know she was. Her faith was unwavering. I will miss her forever. She was very special to me! "Value your time with those who bring out the best in you, who are there for you in all of life's highs and lows, whom you can entrust your fears and insecurities to, and with whom you can be totally yourself."

My sincere condolences to Verna’s family, her nieces and nephews who were Verna’s sister Gloria’ s family. I met Verna and Clyde at Mama George’s Restaurant on Sundays after their Church service. They were such a wonderful couple. I remember Gloria taking Verna with her for the ride when she was doing an Open House when we were in Real Estate. Gloria and I were in the same office so we knew each other very well. She loved her sister Verna. May your beautiful memories bring you comfort in the difficult days ahead. For family members, I extend sincere sympathies. In later years, I met Verna and Clyde at yearly gatherings where avid hunters and spouses gathered to feast on various meat dishes along with Verna's delicious homemade brown bread. It was the best. Verna was a sweet lady. My thoughts are with you.
