Obituary of Jamie Welner

It is with heavy hearts that the family of James Leroy Welner announce his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 17, 2024 at the age of 68.

Born in Elmsdale, Nova Scotia on November 8, 1955; he was the son of the late Ross Welner and Myrtle (Wellwood) Welner Miner.

Jamie had a passion for old cars; whether it was attending shows, shining up his 41’ Dodge or watching the Nascar races and he loved time spent going for drives.

He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed a good game of poker on the computer. Jamie was always up for anything, he was never one to say no – it was always, whatever you want to do and he loved the times he got to spend on vacation in Vegas and Atlantic City.

Jamie was a kindhearted, hard-working man. He loved being a welder and took great pride in his work. He had a dry sense of humor but was always up for a laugh and will be fondly remembered as a big teddy bear.

He is gone too soon and will be missed dearly by all those whose lives he has touched.

He will live on in the hearts of his loving wife, Kim; his son, Zandy Welner (Kerry) of Petitcodiac; his daughter, Alicia Welner of Moncton; his brothers: Colin Welner (Liz) of Moncton, Carmer Welner (Annette) of Calgary, Dana Welner (Dawn ) of Moncton and Dean Welner (Darby) of Moncton; his mother and father-in-law, Anne and Tom Robinson; his brother-in-law, Brent Robinson (Tori); his sisters-in-law: Jenny Robinson and Lori Trites (Richard); his nieces and nephew: Morgan, Luke, Katie, Summer and Khloe; as well as several grandchildren and extended family members.

Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brother-in-law, Dale Robinson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176), from where a visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20 from 2-4pm.

Donations in memory of Jamie may be made to St. Phillip’s Catholic Cemetery or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through wallacefuneralhome.com
