Obituary of Allison "Al" Clair
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Allison “Al” Eldon Clair announce his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 25, 2024, at the age of 81.
Born in Coldstream, NB on June 16, 1942; he was the son of the late Donald and Terry Jean (Orser) Clair.
Allison met the love of his life, Nancy in Ontario and on June 18, 1966, in the St. Augustus Church they would marry and begin their lives together.
In 1979 they moved to Sussex and not long after, he opened A.E Clair Sheetmetal. He was well known for his excellent work, and everyone knew that it was his.
Al loved doing crossword scratchers and playing sudoku, hunting and driving fast cars; but he especially loved fishing. He would stand on the riverbank and the fish would flock to him and he was so persistent, those fish were going to be his.
The love he had for his family was first and foremost to him. He never forgot a special day and the time spent with family meant the world to him. Monica was his pride and joy and he loved Nancy so deeply and without hesitation.
Allison Clair was a man who did his own thing, his own way on his own time. He had a lot of the devil in him but had the kindest of all hearts. He will be deeply missed.
He will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife, Nancy (Brown); his loving daughter, Monica Clair and Scott Bradshaw of Sherwood Park, AB; his sisters: Pat Paget and her husband Jim of Nackawic and Jean Hallett and her husband Blaine of Hartland; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Mac Clair.
Arrangements are entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB, from where visitation will be held on Monday, April 29 from 4 to 7 pm. A celebration of Al’s life will take place at the Wallace Community Chapel on Tuesday, April 30 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dan McMullen officiating.
Donations in memory of Allison may be made to the charity of choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through wallacefuneralhome.com.
