Obituary of Sharron Gregg

It is with deep sadness that the family of Sharron Elizabeth Gregg announce her sudden passing at her home on Wednesday, July 24. Born in Chipman, NB on September 16, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Marjorie (Ferris) White.

Sharron married her husband Norman in 1961.  In 1963 with a newly born Vincent they moved to Toronto from Chipman. In the next 4 years there were two more arrivals to the family, Jeffrey and Russell. Sharron always was there for the family and it was definitely her main focus.  She was a wonderful cook and a loving and caring mother.

In 1977 the family packed up and left Toronto for New Brunswick.  Norman and Sharron found a place in Lower Millstream where they lived for 31 years.

When the boys and Marissa found their partners and brought them home, Sharron welcomed them and treated them like they were her kids.  There was no distinction between daughter and daughter-in-law to her.

In 1993 her first grandchild arrived, Marissa.  Sharron looked after her while her parents were working and developed a deep loving relationship with her. She was not only her grandmother but her best friend too.

Sharron would take anyone in. She couldn’t see a stray animal go hungry and fed and cared for the birds, especially hummingbirds, all year and when you went to their home it was like a bird sanctuary.  She loved her yard sales.  Both attending them and holding them … she made sure she knew the value of the items she had and had a wonderful time meeting people and bartering with them.

In 2008 they built their new home at the base of Kierstead Mountain.  Sharron quickly turned it into, with her love and caring, the most welcoming home around.  When you got there you were always offered a cup of tea and a snack … you never left hungry, she made sure of that!

Even though the boys did not all live near her she made a point of staying in touch by phone on a regular basis and loved it whenever they could return for a visit.

She was always concerned about everyone around her and made sure they all were doing all right. To Sharron, everyone was treated like family.

Late in 2022, she was blessed with a great granddaughter.  Abby was certainly the apple of her eye and she was constantly looking for all the things she might need.

Sharron will be missed by everyone who knew her, she was a special person who touched everyone around her with her love and caring.

Sharron is survived by her loving husband, Norman of Kierstead Mountain, NB; her three sons:  Vincent Gregg (Beverlee) of Hampton, NB, Jeffrey Gregg (Yvonne Perry) of Halifax, NS, and Russell Gregg (Richelle) of Halifax, NS; her brothers: Richard, Greg, and Jack; her sisters: Joann, Mary Lou, and Deborah; her granddaughter, Marissa Beaulieu (Josh); and her great granddaughter, Abigale Elizabeth Jean Beaulieu. Sharron is also survived by her several nieces, nephews.

Besides her parents, Sharron was predeceased by her brothers: Robert and Darrell, and her sisters: Pauline and Betty.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) from where a visitation will take place on Saturday, July 27 from 4-8pm. A celebration of Sharron’s life will be held from the Wallace Community Chapel on Sunday, July 28 at 2:00pm.
