Obituary of Bernice Fanjoy
It is with saddened hearts that the family of the late Annie Evelyn “Bernice” Fanjoy announce her passing on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the Sussex Health Centre. Born in Saint John, NB on March 28, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Reginal and Annie (Barnes) Holden.
Bernice was well-known for her knitting and her love for country music. She was a compassionate soul and always held a special place in her heart for the elderly.
Bernice will live on in the hearts of her loving daughter, Judy Lynn Fanjoy of Sussex, NB; her stepbrother, Bill Harding of Shannon, NB; her stepsister, Marilee Roberts of Orleans, ON; her grandchildren: Jonathan (Tina), Sylvia, Rachel, Robin (DJ) , Shyanne; her great grandchildren: Thasha , Dakota , Drake , Nevaeh , Jacob , Ashton , Chaylen , Aleta , Aubrianna , Maverick , Treyvon , Avana , Enzo; her special niece, Karen Fanjoy; her goddaughter, Angela Rose Saunders; and her special music friend, Ken Rossiter. Bernice is also survived by her several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Bernice was predeceased by her sisters: Pauline McCutcheon and Joyce McCutcheon; her stepbrother, Gerald; and her special friend, Freda McFarlane.
Bernice’s family wish to extend a special thanks to her home care worker, Lori Riley, for her compassionate and attentive care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where a visitation will be held on Monday, September 9 from 1-3pm, followed by a celebration of Bernice’s life from the Wallace Community Chapel at 3:00pm.
