I am so sorry to hear of Jimmy’s passing. He and Edna were good friends of my parents, Eric and Helen Hicks. Jimmy and Edna were the best neighbours at our trailer/cottage at Cumberland Point, Grand Lake. They were good friends at Sussex Baptist Church also. I pray for God’s comfort and peace for Edna, and all the family. Jim will surely be missed.

I met the Chown’s in 1975 when we moved to Sussex from Ontario. They were my grandmother’s neighbours. In 1981, they became family- Michael was a nephew. Although I saw them often visiting Billy, Edna’s brother, I will always remember them being part of my first memories of Sussex.
I won’t be able to be there in person but know that the whole family will be in my thoughts and prayers this week.

Jim will be remembered as always willing to help anyone in need. Jim could do anything, fix a leaky faucet, figure out an electrical problem and even build a complete house. He was a first class mechanic. No problem too big or too small for him to tackle. Just last year he turned two broken down trucks into a good dependable truck and even gave it a professional looking paint job. Once I visited him and he was using Edna’s sewing machine repairing something or other. He was a jack of all trades and mastered them all. We met Jim and Edna when we moved to Sussex more than 50 years ago. We have been friends ever since. He will be missed. Claudette and I extend our sympathy to Edna and the whole family.

Dear Edna and family our deepest sympathy in the loss of a wonderful husband,
father, grandfather and great grandfather, and friend. You all will miss him, he was
so helpful and knowledgeable at anything he tackled, so loving and caring. You
have many memories to cherish, these will help you in the days ahead. I know we
will miss him, his phone calls wishing us a happy birthday, anniversary, Christmas,
etc. even just checking up to see if everyone is doing okay. I will miss his advice.
I will miss my brother. Love you guys, we will be in prayer for you, that God grant
you peace and comfort. Sister Sheila and John

Edna, Joanne, Douglas and your family, Steven, Mark, Melissa and your family. My deepest sympathies on Jim’s passing. Edna you lost a wonderful Partner/Friend/Husband and Father to Joanne, Stephen and Mark. You will all grieve the loss and the great void it has created in your lives. Once this period has passed and the pain has dulled you will have the memories of a life you all shared in creating. You will have times of joy, laughter as you recall life together and yes in your private moments you will experience a sense of extreme loss and you will find yourself in tears but it too will pass, you will find a new hope and peace in your heart. I will miss my brother
