Jimmy Viau

Obituary of Jimmy Viau

Those we love remain with us
for love itself lives on,
And cherished memories never fade
Because a love one’s gone…

Those we love can never be
more than a thought apart
For as long as there is memory,
They’ll live on in the heart.

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late James Thomas “Jimmy” Viau announce his passing on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at his home. Jimmy was born in Ottawa, Ontario on October 30, 1955.

Jimmy will live on in the hearts of his extended family circle: Laura Scott of Snider Mountain, NB; Blair and Terry Bonnevie of Sussex, NB, Kim Browne of Sussex, NB, Monica Doyle of Sussex Corner, NB, Bonnie Pinet of Cedar Camp, NB, Lori Crouse of Sussex, NB, Sandy Powers of Sussex, NB, and many more friends across the years.

Jimmy was predeceased by Raymond Smith and Jessica Smith.

Jim left the big city life, arriving in Sussex in the late 70’s. It did not take him long to acquire many friends of all ages. Jim worked at several places over the years, but his favorite job was working on vehicles. You could often find him somewhere under a car repairing something for someone. Jim would be the first person there if someone was in need. He was a good friend to all and loved by many! Jim will be missed!

I am so grateful to have been Jimmy's friend in life and will continue to be his friend in death, honoring him in all I do. He was a wonderful guy and a beautiful soul with a heart of gold. The world is less bright without you and I know I'll cherish my memories and all the coffee’s we shared together, Jimmy. We are all feeling so very lost without you, Jimmy, but we are trying to be as brave as you were. You have so, so many friends, Jimmy, and everyone loved you. Till we meet again... Rest Easy, Jimmy.

I have known Jimmy since he came to Sussex, and we have been best friends forever. I loved him with all my heart. He left us way to soon and he enjoyed life to its fullest! -- Laura
