Obituary of Kay Henry
Kathleen Elizabeth Henry passed away peacefully at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex NB on November 5, 2024 at the age of 104.
Born in Apohaqui on September 29, 1920; she was the daughter of the late Alexander Clarke Moore and Annie Elizabeth (McKnight) Moore.
Kay enjoyed life, had a kind word and a quick smile for everyone. She was a lady of deep faith and always put others first. She was active in church work, missionary groups and helping to clean the church right up until the last few years. Everyone was always welcome in her home, and no one ever left hungry, which was wonderful because she was a great cook.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Jean Henry of Apohaqui; her sister, Jean Smith of St. Stephen; her brother, Jim Moore of Moncton; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, John “Jack” Henry (2008); her son, Vincent (1973) and by her brothers: Stewart, Cecil and Gordon Moore.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 1-3pm. A funeral service in Kay’s honor will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 2pm.
Donations in memory of Kay may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through wallacefuneralhome.com
