Obituary of Margery Steele

The family of Margery Ruth Steele announces her passing at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on November 30, 2024 at the age of 86. 

Born in Saint John on October 11, 1938; she was the daughter of the late James and Elsie (McEwen) Steele. 

Margery graduated from Simonds Regional High School and went on to attend UBBTS in Moncton and Bethany Bible College in Yarmouth, where she also taught as a commercial instructor as well as the head of the Dean of Women. She had a strong faith and a passion for learning.

She worked at the Canadian Red Cross in Saint John as the secretary, before returning to Bethany Bible College in Sussex where she graduated with a B.A. in religion. In 1984, she took a position at Bethany as a commercial instructor until 1991. 

Margery will live on in the hearts of her brother, Ray Steele (Sandra) of Sussex; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings: Bob, Ronald, Maurice, and Lawrence Steele, Lois Johnston and Shirley Ford. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 1-2pm with a Celebration of Margery’s Life immediately following in Wallace Community Chapel.

Donations in memory of Margery may be made to Kiwanis Nursing Home or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through wallacefuneralhome.com
