Obituary of Helen McKnight

Helen Bessie McKnight of Great Oaks Special Care Home, Wickham, passed away at her residence on March 29, 2005 at the age of 86. Born in Snider Mountain NB on September 17, 1918, she was the daughter of the late George and Merle (Ganong) Brown and the beloved wife of the late Harry McKnight who passed away in 2001. Helen is survived by her daughter Shirley Harding and her husband Cyril of Kierstead Mt., 2 sons; Barry and his wife Yvonne of Burlington, Ontario; Stephen and his wife Agnes of Hamilton, Ontario, 10 Grandchildren; Terry, Jeremy, Lisa and Julie McKnight, Bonnie Fleming, Curtis and Scott Campbell, Eugene Roche and Kim Searay and Brad Harding, 14 Great Grandchildren; Tyler McKnight, Holeigh and Justin Fleming, Richard, Andrew, Cody, Shania and Michael Campbell, Morgan and Logan Harding, Riley Leeson-Roche, Trina Irwin, Shawn and Steven Searay, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; Katy Irwin and Joselyn and Odin Campbell, as well as several nieces and nephews, her sister, Mabel Murray of Penobsquis, her daughter-in-law, Doreen of Waterdown, Ont and 2 sisters-in-law; Rosie Brown of Snider Mountain, and Vivian Brown of Sussex. Helen was predeceased by a grandson, Frank Campbell, a great grandson, Keith Campbell, 2 brothers; Austin Brown and Russell Brown, 3 sisters; Verna Keirstead, Nita McQuinn and Dorothy Branscombe. Helen taught school and was a retail rental agent for over 17 years. She was a member of the Snider Mt. Baptist Church and enjoyed collecting dolls, knitting, sewing and quilting, and her favorite poem was the 23rd Psalm. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Friday 2-4, 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Kierstead Mt. Cemetery in the spring.
